About Drama Resource Print

David_Farmerwww.dramaresource.com was created by drama consultant David Farmer to offer practical resources for teaching drama. The site was begun in 1996 with a simple collection of drama games and has continued to grow and develop into the No 1 Google-rated site that it is today. The resources are aimed at teachers, youth leaders, theatre directors, actors and anyone else involved in creative group activities.

David trained as a primary school teacher in English and Drama with a B.Ed (Hons), and has since worked as an actor, theatre director, writer and arts consultant. He has over 30 years experience of working in the arts with young people. Since 1981, when he founded Tiebreak Theatre Company, his stage productions have been performed in the USA, Canada, continental Europe and throughout the United Kingdom - over 65 plays for half a million young people across the world. The theatre company received outstanding reviews for its work, including:

'Inventive, humorous and intelligent theatre that does not shy away from emotional issues'
-
The Evening Standard

'A beautifully imagined account of this children's favourite, performed with gusto and real storytelling suspense'
- The Sunday Times

'David Farmer's direction encourages a sense of wonder and wit'
- Sunday Telegraph

David works freelance as a writer, teacher and arts consultant specialising in drama and has trained with leading theatre professionals, including Augusto Boal. As well as managing the website, he trains teachers in drama and is a published author. Recent work includes: Advisor for Drama for Learning and Creativity (D4LC), Theatre Mentor for Shakespeare Youth Festival, Arts Partnership Manager for Norfolk County Council and lecturing at Anglia Ruskin University. He has served on many committees, including the Children's Theatre Association/ASSITEJ, Creative Arts East and Norfolk Arts Forum.
