Course Tutor: David Farmer
David Farmer delivers yet another brand new course comprising exciting lesson plans suitable for KS1 and KS2 taken from his forthcoming book Drop Of A Hat Drama Lessons. This follows on from the well-received course held In February this year. No prior knowledge is necessary to attend this course. The lessons deal with a range of subjects across the curriculum and the approaches can be applied to many topics.
‘I was particularly inspired by how to manage teaching Shakespeare and the real emotion provoked by the refugee unit! I will be rewriting our schemes of work to incorporate as many new ideas as possible.’ – Jennifer Carr, Participant, February 2019.
‘I’ve spent some time reworking, devising and plotting new schemes ready to roll out in the summer! Very exciting!’ – Jodie Rayner, Participant, February 2019.
As well as practical and interactive demonstrations we provide detailed lesson plans and resources to take away. The activities are suitable for teachers to use in the primary school classroom/drama club and are different to those presented on any previous courses. If you have attended any of our other courses, we know you will love this one! This one-day Drama INSET course is suitable for teachers, teaching assistants and freelancers from schools and other organisations, with or without previous drama teaching experience.
‘I cannot recall a better professional development opportunity to inspire those working with children. I can’t wait to get back to The Custom House and share with colleagues.’ – Elizabeth Kane, Participant, February 2019.
Time is allocated to discussing and developing the drama activities and we will share these afterwards via DropBox and a private Facebook group.
- Includes FULL notes and lesson plans so that you can concentrate on participating in the activities
- Attendance Certificate presented
‘I loved the scope of the lesson plans for extended schemes of work. A brilliant and informative day.’ – Rachel Bibby, February 2019.
I took two classes of year 3 students through ‘The King’s Sentence’ on Friday. They absolutely loved it and it has provided them and their English teacher with a platform to explore storytelling writing. Your imagination is inspirational!’– Hayley Casingena, February 2019
