Course Tutor: David Farmer

We now offer three one-day courses about drama teaching with primary students (5-11 years). Find out more

In this CPD course suitable for KS 1 and KS 2 you will learn how to engage pupils by using the most important drama strategies in your teaching. The focus is on the use of drama strategies to support the primary curriculum, including freeze frames, teacher in role, hot-seating, ten-second objects, thought-tracking and many more. Participants have the opportunity to work with drama expert David Farmer, to discuss common issues with colleagues and devise solutions to put into practice in the primary school classroom or drama club.

What they said about this course:

“The primary curriculum course is full of playful invention, underpinned by a wealth of experience and knowledge.” – Hannah Rose, September 2018

“It was just what I needed – a wide selection of games and activities that I can use straight away, especially as I’ve had no drama training.” – Laura Kennedy, July 2018

“What an incredibly inspiring day of training! Trying out new games, meeting some wonderful teachers and receiving expert advice and guidance from David Farmer.” – White Rabbit Drama Club, September 2018

“The day was packed with easily achievable activities for all primary ages and abilities – and could be developed to link with all curricular areas.” – Claire Fletcher, February 2017

    • Learn to use drama games, activities and practical techniques to enhance creativity and learning in the primary curriculum, encourage group co-operation and have fun!
    • Explore how you can use drama lessons and strategies to support literacy objectives, including speaking, listening and writing
