For the past 8 years, The Drama Hut have been a leading primary school workshop provider, supporting teachers and encouraging creative learning. With the closure of schools due to COVID19, we remain committed to providing an outlet for children to feel connected and creative. With this in mind, we have adapted and timetabled a selection of our curriculum-based workshops which children can access directly from home, using laptops, iPads or mobile phones, supporting parents and teachers in continuing to inspire and engage children in a fun and creative way.
Workshops are facilitated by professional actors, last approximately 50 minutes and take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm. As with our standard workshops, they incorporate a combination of improvisation, storytelling, song and movement and finish with a short quiz and suggested further activities. Prior to the workshop you will receive via email a short pre-recorded video, introducing the character and topic. A selection of these can be found below. They should be viewed prior to the scheduled sessions and will include a little bit of optional ‘prep work’ to further encourage engagement. The workshops are live streamed using Zoom and are fully interactive.
